The international summer school VISMAC "VISione delle MACchine" (in English, "Machine Vision") is organized every two years by the Italian Association for Computer Vision, Pattern Recognition and Machine Learning (CVPL) affiliated to the International Association for Pattern Recognition (IAPR).

The school aims to provide a stimulating opportunity for Ph.D. students and young researchers through lectures and tutorials led by computer vision experts. Participants will also have the opportunity to present the results of their research, and to interact with their scientific peers, in a friendly and constructive environment.

School

The program is designed to provide a common scientific and cultural background for participants through 3 keynotes, 4 tutorials and several lectures. Topics of interest include all aspects of computer vision and pattern recognition, such as:

  • 3D computer vision;
  • Deep learning and neural networks;
  • Vision and language, reasoning;
  • Video understanding, action recognition and anticipation;
  • Self-& semi-& meta-& and unsupervised learning;
  • Embodied vision and robotics: active agents, simulation;
  • Tracking and motion prediction;
  • Re-identification and camera networks;
  • Vision applications and systems.
